Hello guys, I have migrated OS from old HDD to new SSD (samsung 980 NVMe 500G) in a Nitro N50-600 PC. How can I set the new SSD as the primary boot device? I entered BIOS, but under "BOOT OPTIONS", there is only one option looks like from HDD. Also is there a "BOOT" tab in BIOS showing all available bootable devices so that I can move them up and down? Thank you!

  • Hi,
You can remove the original HDD from PC and try booting with only the new SSD, once you are satisfied with the migration connect the HDD externally with a SATA to USB cable and format the old drive, then you can reinsert the HDD and use it as the storage drive, unfortunately, the old method of choosing the boot drive is not available in the new BIOS.

Thank you so much Brummyfan! I just want to go further but all things messed up. I tried to reset the HDD so that the size of the content can be reduced, but something went wrong and the HDD is in autorepairing-reset/recovery loop. Now the HDD cannot boot by itself and the new SSD is not bootable.

Can you please help to end the loop? Or is there a way to re-install window?

    Hi,
You could try Alt+F10 method but you will lose the data in your laptop, it can recover only the Operating system, remove the new M.2 SSD and follow the instructions in the video, then you have to migrate the OS to M.2 NVMe SSD.

Here are the steps to make SSD the boot drive on windows 11/10:
    1. Restart PC and press F2/F12/Del keys to enter BIOS.
    2. Go to the boot option, change the boot order, setting OS to boot from the new SSD.
    3. Save the changes, exit BIOS, and restart the PC. Wait patiently to let the computer boot up.
