Strange sound for acer Nitro AN515-55.

So whenever i startup, i hear a strange tock sound, from the upper or mid side or my laptop. It happens every 10 or 20 seconds for a few minutes then stops. When I have a game running, then exit that game after a while, the tock sound reappears, for a few minutes as the fans are cooling down. Its very strange, its almost like the sound is connected to the fans changing speed modes.

When the sound started 8 months ago, I immediately took it to the shop, got the fans cleaned and changed the hdd to ssd. since those are the only 2 moving parts, i figured it must be one or the other. The sound was still there. Then thought maybe its my speakers somehow, so i disabled it. The sound was still there... fans have been cleaned twice in 10 months, the sound is always there before and after.

The laptop itself is working well, temps playing older games, 50-60 for cpu, 55 for gpu. On demanding games like horizon zero dawn, 65-73 for cpu, 75 for gpu [average]. I've did some research about it, a number of people have this weird sound issue for acer nitro 5 but theres no solutions.

I just want to know why, what's causing this noise. It seems to happen when speed boost gets activated and the fans change speeds as the temp spikes or cools down. Like it clicks into different speed modes. When i'm gaming, the fans sounds smooth, no grinding. I clean them everyone 4-6 months.

The fans are soft when I'm browsing or its on idle. I've ran all sorts of trouble shooting and scans, all came back clean. It only happens on startup, and after shutting down a game. And it lasts for a few minutes. Heck if i shut down a game and immediately shut down the laptop after, the sound persists for a few seconds. Like the plastic casing is expanding and contracting with heat.

Has anyone else experienced this? should i be worried? or is this just some weird quirk of the laptop. I mean i've been using it for so long now with no performance issues [still backup regularly though, to be safe].

No, just windows processes on startup.

    Hi @Moir43,

    # Try to update the sound driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option sound driver.
    4. Under the title sound driver.
Realtek HD Audio Driver Manager Download For Windows 10 64-bit
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title sound driver.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

Yeah i did this already, i did do it again now though. It says the best drivers are already installed. Anyway, I disabled my speakers since I don't use them.

Also, the sound isn't coming for the speakers, its more around the arrow and enter keys area. It sounds like the fans click when its winding down or revving up speed into different modes [changing c-states?] [already had my fans cleaned by a professional]. Also I only have ssd's, no hdds.
