Hello there,

I am using the following Acer Swift 3 Laptop
  • NTB Acer SF315-41-R9R4 FHD
  • Ryzen 5
  • 8GB
  • 512GB SSD
  • Ubuntu 20.04
Issue: When I boot the laptop the screen (randomly) goes white (Sometimes nothing special/bad happens). The screen doesn't go completely white in the beginning. It starts with a white ellipse in the middle and then more and more of the screen turns white, till in the end it looks like this:

A kinda similiar Issue arises, when i tilt the screen. This also only occurs sometimes, but results in this fancy "noise" image:

I hope it's "only" a broken eDP cable. Can someone confirm this assumption/ Knows how can I confirm this assumption?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi @Tratori

You can try to do the BIOS reset.

How do I reset my BIOS/UEFI to default settings?
    1. Turn on the laptop and keep on tapping the F2 button continuously to get into the BIOS.
    2. Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
    3. Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit.
If this doesn't work. Then try to do the reset.

Disclaimer: But you will loose all your data inside the laptop during this reset process.
