I've accidentally spilled rubbing alcohol on my keyboard and it slowly died on me a couple months back. I'm thinking of reinstalling keyboard drivers incase that does anything but I'm afraid I would no longer be able to use the power button when I do that.

Alcohol should not do any harm to your keyboard unless you spill it on when the laptop is powered on and it shorted components out. Also the power button on the AN515-52 is a part of the keyboard and integrated into the keyboard cable, see caption below where the big arrow is as on its the right is the touchpad cable (G) and you have todisconnect both to take the keyboard out.
