Laptop A315-41-R18T m.2 SSD slot issue

Just upgraded storage by adding an m.2 (non-nvme) SSD into the available slot - it's not being recognised by the disk partition tool.

Anyone able to give me insight on why this might be?

    Press WIN+R. Enter diskmgmt.msc. Initialize the new drive first. Once initialized, you can partition it the way you want from the same diskmgmt.msc application.
