I just buy my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44, the disk is not SSD but HDD (5400 rpm). The first start up took around 8 min, but i thought it was because of the first time OS start, initial config and so, but every next start after Windows initial configration took around 3,5 min. (no software has been installed or default configuration has been changed). This is not  a normal start up time for a laptop with its specifications, even with OS installed in mechanical HDD!  Any idea of what the problem may be?

I think 3.5 min is normal startup time for a 5,400 RPM HDD for bootup. This HDD will be the bottleneck for your PC throughout its lifetime, disregard the processor being used.

Do yourself a favor, at least change this HDD to a 2.5" SATA3 SSD.

Better still, change the boot drive to a PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD. You will appreciate how fast a PC that you have.

We are talking about read speed of 110 MB/s to 3,400 MB/s, see the difference?

Thanks Mainframe, yes, i know this is the best solution for fast startup but i'm surprised because i have two other laptops, 3 and 5 years old, both with mechanical discs, full of software (some heavy), possibly very fragmented and despite of this none takes more than 1.5 min to boot to the desktop windows screen, so I was thinking that it could be a failure of hardware, the disk itself or the motherboard,or ram...i don't know....

Are you sure your older laptops are also using 5,400 RPM drives? Sometimes, having checked the fast startup in the Windows settings can contribute to some startup time difference.

Oh, you can change fast boot in BIOS.

    Hi @Ferospi2021,

Is there any anti-virus installed in the unit.
