If I spilt a drink on a laptop, would warranty cover it to be fixed and how would I fix it? I have tried to power it on and it doesn’t power on.

Warranty does not cover liquid spills as liquids should be kept completely away from a laptop or any electronic components. Your first precautionary step is to disconnect the laptop from all power sources e.g. charger and battery so as to stop any power going into the laptop!  After that take your laptop to an experienced tech who will clean the motherboard and replace any components that are shorted and/or burned out. Don’t try to fix or do anything as a consumer doesn’t have the tools to fix a laptop with burned out components. Have a look at this "Liquid Damage repair" as this a way of fixing liquid damage ifyou hve the knowlage of dismantling your laptop?

If you are a customer from the US, and the store offered you "accident protection plan" and considering you opted for it, go to the store you got it from. But if you are talking about Acer policy, afaik, liquid or negligence damage isn't covered.
