I recently revived (or tried to) my old acer laptop. The model is Aspire ES1-511. Fist I had to buy a charger because I lost the one I had after all these years. I bought one but I don't know if its original. The listing said it is but I don't think so considering the heat it is making. Also I don't know where can I buy an original one.

This problem is because and due to a faulty laptop battery and/or using the wrong laptop charger for the OEM battery and/or using the wrong laptop battery or a damaged/faulty laptop charger (which copy chargers are known for as they are a cheap copy) and causes a heated charger and/or a heated battery.

Btw the OEM list of batteries for your ES1-511 model are; LG AC14B18J, LG AC14B8K, LG AP13B8K, SANYO AC14B3K and the SANYO AP13B3K. And with the AC Adaptor have a lookat the ADP 1A 40W 19V range as that is what is the Acer OEM recommended AC Adaptor for the ES1-512.

Also, your copy AC adaptor could be that its input of 1.2A to the suggested OEM of a "Max input AC current – 1A Max at 100Vac" is higher and could cuase this overheating problem, also there is no specific specified manufacturer for the ES1-511's OEM AC Adaptor except for its specs which are:

This is the ES1-511 OEM and suggested ES1-511 AC adaptor specs:

    • Input Rating – 40W
    • Max input AC current – 1A Max at 100Vac
    • Output voltage – 19V
    Your copy AC Adapto
    • Input – 100V to 240V at 1.2A / 50Hz to 60Hz
    • Output – 19V at 2.37A
