Hi all! I recently purchased the Predator Orion 3000 PO3-630 and loving it so far. However I do want to upgrade the CPU cooler and have browsed the forum and did see that another user was able to install the Noctua NH-U9S but was wondering if anyone has/knows if this cooler would work with the motherboard on the PO3-630? I compared the dimenions from the Noctua and the cooler below and they are roughly the same size give or take.

CPU Cooler - CoolerMaster Hyper H412R

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to ensure I'm purchasing something that will work/fit as expected. Thanks!

My Specs -

Intel Core i7-11700F Processor
RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 1 TB HDD & 512 GB SSD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB

One of the best fan/cooler that fits into the space of your PO3-630 is the dry fan coolers model "Noctua NH-U9S” fan (see caption below) that has been proven with the Predator PO3-630. Also measure the spaces that you have and see if you can fit the water cooling sealed systems of either the single radiator fan or the dual radiator fan systems.

Hi, did you upgrade your CPU Cooler? I don't know how to install it on the motherboard.

I just did this upgrade aswell. Noctua D9L on PO3-630 (11400f with RTX 3060). Used M3 x 10mm screws from a hardware store. Right after swapping cooler idle temp was 35 degrees Celcius, where with the stock cooler i got around 50. Pretty nice!

    Hi,

I manage to install the Noctua NH-U9S using the following steps:

    - take out the motherboard from the case

    - replace the CPU backplate of the motherboard with a normal one (for this... I had an older, defective motherboard)

    - Install the backplate from Noctua

    - connect everything back and at the end Install the Noctua cooler.

    Good luck!

You didn't need to replace the backplate. You could have just used the M3 screws everyone else is using...

Would the ZALMAN CNPS 16X work with the PC? MY CPU TEMPERATURES ARE HIGH.

This Zalman is too tall, at least if you want to close the side panel. Dimensions from the manufacturer's site:

    140(L) x 100(W) x 165(H)mm.

I'm not 100% sure, but even the mentioned 140(L) might be too much for such a small case.

Very popular Noctua NH-U9S has the height of mere 125mm. And form the pictures I have seen on this forum, there isn't too much empty space around the cooler.

I know that the Noctua is a good fit but it's too much to pay for it so I looked at the ZALMAN as a cheaper option for my CPU cooler I didn't look at the height of it so I will get the more expensive one.
