Dear all,
I use to connect my Acer Aspire Z24-880 to a multiple power socket but sometimes when I turn on the multiple power socket my PC starts up without pressing any  button.
Is there any setting to check in the bios?
Is it a problem of the motherboard?
Thanks

Normally computer will turn on only when you press the power on button on your computer.   After using the computer, kindly switch off the computer.

Try these steps now..  If the computer is turned on,  keep holding the power button on your computer or do a proper shutdown way by moving the mouse to lower left corner -  click on the windows logo.   click on power - click on shutdown  to switch off the computer.   You can also hold the windows key and press x on your keyboard.   It will show you a menu.   The last second option from the bottom of menu it will show you shutdown or signout.   click on it.   It will show you sleep , shutdown, restart, signout.  Click on shutdown.   Computer will be turned off.    Now turn on the multiple power socket.  Computer will not turn on.   You have to manually press the power on button on your computer to turn it on.

If it is still not working..

If you are using the surge protector with multiple power socket, remove the power cable from the multiple power socket and try to connect it directly to a power outlet and check it.     Try to connect it on a different power socket on a different room and check it.   Otherwise use an alternative multiple power socket and check it.

Go into the BIOS on your Aspire Z24-880 and look in the Power menu. You should find a setting called Restore On AC Power Loss. When you turn the power on the computer does what is selected here. If you want it to stay off until you press the power button, just set it to Off.
