I replaced 8 gb RAM with 16 gb one on Nitro AN515-52 i7-8750H Windows 11 and got an error message in a green screen "Your Windows Insider Build ran into a problem and ...".  The old 8 RAM was SK Hynix DDR4-2667(1333 MHz) and the new one - Kinston Furry DDR4 16/2666. How can I fix the problem.

  • Hi,
Have you removed the old RAM or you are using both in the slots? You can not mix XMP profile Kingston Fury with JEDEC profile modules, I have seen others using Kingston HyperX(with XMP profile) in this model, there are two options for you:
    1. Buy another Kingston Fury and install in the second slot(2x16GB), it may work but I couldn't find anyone using it, so you have to try it at your own risk.
    2. Buy another normal RAM with JEDEC profile and install in the second slot(2x8GB), these RAMs are normally green coloured.

A lot of thanks for brummyfan2's response. I awared of the broblem of mix XMP profile Kingston Fury with JEDEC profile modules. The problem occurred when I installed Kingston Fury in the first slot while the second slot was empty. However, when I installed the 8 RAM SK Hynix DDR4-2667(1333 MHz) in the first slot and the Kingston Fury in the second, then there was no sign of problem.  I've worked with the Nito 5 (RAM = 8+16 = 24 gb) for more than 24 hours now.  This makes me confused. I'd like someone to explain it. Thanks.
