Acer Switch Alpha 12 with dead battery and won't turn on anymore

Hi,

I have an Acer Switch alpha 12. I think the battery is dead, it doesn't charge, it always has 0% charge. When turned off and the charger is connected, the charging light on the power button does not appear. When I turn on the laptop in a short time (one or two minutes) automatically shuts down by itself. I took the battery out, but the laptop doesn't run on just the charged power. Is this expected? or is there a problem with the laptop's charging or power supply system? I want to work with my laptop only with the power connected while I don't buy another battery, is this possible? Or does anyone have any other ideas for me to be able to work while I don't buy another battery?

Yes, it certainly sounds like the battery has failed, and the Switch Alpha 12 is just about at the right age for that to happen. You can leave the battery in and run it on the charger for as long as the electricity continues to flow from the charger to the battery to the motherboard. The batteries are pretty readily available. The Acer part number is: KT.00204.003. Try searching on that to find some from a vendor that will ship to your locale. If the battery is starting to bulge you probably don't want to continue to use it for too long in this mode, so plan on doing the replacement sooner rather than later.
