Yesterday, I was watching a movie on my acer es1 411 when all of a sudden, it flickered with vertical and horizontal lines. I didn't know what to do so I shut it off. Then, I opened it again but the light power indicator ( blue) blinked on and off slowly. I didn't know what to do so I turn it off and charged it until it's fully charged. Then, the next morning, it happened again. So I asked my sister to helped me fix it. I did the methods from youtube. A) Removed the battery, press the power button for 30 seconds and then put back the battery and turned it on which didn't work. B) Removed the battery, put the ac adapter and opened it, didnt work. C) Removed the cover, took out the ram, and cleaned with eraser, it worked. It had lines but when we start it, it was okay now. The pc diagnosed the problem and it worked now. But when I was using it to do my download of avast and cccleaner, it shut down. And the power light indicator blinked slowly again when I pressed the power button. I left it for 15 minutes to chill down. I opened again and it put me to 'Your pc needs repair. The digital media needs to be fixed' screen or somewhere along the digital media warning. I restarted it but it just put me into Acer logo and does not change from that. What does this indicate and how could I fix it? Please help me. I'm poor and I don't know what to do.

Press and hold power button till machine shuts off. Then turn it back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. A reset screen should appear to allow you to reset the system to a factory fresh state.

I wasn't able to do this because I have a dead screen now. Is there any other way? Or I really need to go and see a computer repairman?

Does the laptop power on at all? Do the fans work but not the LCD screen, is there any faint images in the background of the LCD screen as and if there are it could be a backlight screen issue on your LCD screen that the best solution is to change the LCD screen. Also and be aware that there are many issues with power on failures and what I’ve described above is just one of them as there could be internal Mosfet, capacitors and fuses that have burned out that need diagnosing by an experienced technician that has the experience and all the appropriate tools to fix these issues if its beyond a replacement of an LCD screen or a battery.

The OEM replacement screens are the following types:

    • LED LCD Panel AUO 14' WXGA Glare B140XTN03.2 LF 200nit 8ms 500:1 - Acer part No: KL.14005.005
    • LED LCD Panel LPL 14' WXGA Glare LP140WH8-TPA1 LF 200nit 16ms 500:1 eDP 1.2 – Acer part No: KL.14008.011
    • LED LCD Panel CMI 14' WXGA Glare N140BGE-E43 Rev.C2 LF 200nit 10ms 650:1 eDP 1.2, LED EC - Acer part No: KL.1400D.012
