I Have an Acer aspire e5 475g, the issue came up after I changed the original battery which is dead. I changed to a new one and at first, it shows up normally but after another restart, it's not detecting anymore and yet still supplying the laptop with power just fine. I have checked for driver and bios updates, everything's fine. Help me with this issue please.

  • Hi,
Go to BIOS screen, move to Main tab and while you are in the Main tab, press F9 button and then F10 to Save &Exit.

    (1) Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near top of next pane. Scroll down and make sure fast startup option is UNchecked.

    (2) Open Device Manager. Click batteries folder. Right click and uninstall ALL drivers in this folder. Exit Device Manager without re-installing anything.

    (3) Shut down Windows normally.

    (4) With charger plugged in, wait for battery charge LED to turn from solid orange to solid blue.

    (5) After battery charge LED turns solid blue, turn machine back on and let Windows re-detect all battery hardware and automatically re-install fresh copies of the drivers.

    Hi @cameelshayn,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.
