CPU temperature fluctuation on Predator Helios 300 PH315-53

I've had the laptop for about a year. It runs great and I've been loving it. The only issue I have with it is that I notice that the CPU temperature fluctuates like crazy. When looking at the temperature change there is no slope, it's a wild up and down. The GPU is a gradual slope one way or the other. It has been like this since I got the laptop. I was wondering if this is normal or something I can do to correct it. I'm not overclocking or undervolting. I did upgrade to Windows 11 but it happened on Windows 10 and 11. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

  • Strange! Have you checked temperatures with hwmonitor? Have you checked if predator sense is set to °C or °F?

It is set to F, but does the same thing in C or F. I have not checked the temperature in any other program other than Predator Sense. I'll download hwmonitor and see if if gives me the same results. I found the fluctuation strange too. A degree difference here and there I would understand but right now for example it bounces around as much as around 26 degrees C from one second to another.

I checked the temp with hwmonitor and it does the same thing. Only the CPU temp, the GPU is a nice wave.

morpheusneo as long as the cpu wont go above 85'ish and the dgpu 70/75 max your completely fine nothing to worry its the silicone lottery temps arent sable on any cpu/gpu thats the way it works as long as its not thermal throttling all is fine you should also optimize your windows properly and undervolt with TS if you havent already :)

I have not changed anything from the factory settings. What is this TS I will need in order to undervolt the processor? First gaming PC here. Taken apart and put together many PCs but not delt with undervolting before. Love learning new things though.
  • Try resetting the battery and see if it resolves the power fluctuation: turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds, and leave the laptop off for half an hour.

If the problem continues to occur, check if there are any programs or services, such as an antivirus for example.
