I have an Acer Predator G5-793 with the same exact issue. It didn't used to do this either -- but perhaps games are getting more hard to handle as the years go by. Basically, it sounds like it's a fan, but it's not in the back or anything. The left speaker specifically is the only one that makes this very loud fan sound / crackling sound that turns on when the laptop starts to heat up. My laptop was no longer under warranty so I carefully opened it up, cleared out some dust, debris, made sure the fans were all blown out and looked good -- which was a bit hard since they used some kind of tape on the fans? The tape actually gathered dust and skin flakes and made the fans accumulate more debris than it otherwise would.... After cleaning well and reassembling, the sound is still there when playing taxing games. Annoying and loud. Fun.

Yeah gaming laptops need to be constantly maintained and taken care of cleaning/repasting etc and even so after a few years the replaceable hardware like fans etc needs to get replaced depending on the usage my G3-572 still the exact same as when i got it in 2018 but its being used as a stationary desktop on AC 24/7 non stop since (only goes off to re-calibrate the battery once per year or so and the battery still good between 8.7/10.1% wear) with external display keyboard/mouse etc so not much wear as a normal daily driver :)
