My acer aspire A514-53G part no: NX.HZ5EM.00B lags as soon as I open any game and when I open the task manager the cpu clock speed is generally below 1ghz(0.19 - 0.96) whether its plugged in or not. I have kept it in performance mode and also I have reset my laptop few times. The clock speed is normal except while gaming. This issue was present in my laptop from the time I bought it but I cannot get assistance from acer as I bought it from foreign country. I sometimes think it as the problem of bios version as the latest bios version in acer site is 1.13 but the windows update has updated my bios version from 1.13 to 1.16. Pls help me to solve the issue...

So what problem is this causing while gaming? The nvidia GPU should be used to satisfy most of the gaming video power demands,  not the CPU. I don't understand what problems the games are having when the nvidia GPU is being used heavily. Please explain the actual game problem?

I think nvidia gpu is working fine. The problem is in cpu. As the clock speed of cpu decreases, gpu cannot single handedly play the game. If so, why does every game has the requirement of the cpu with the clock speed? Nvidia gpu is not being used heavily due to the same reason.  My problem while gaming is the decrease in clock speed decreases fps of game to 10-15 which is not playable. I want to fix this issue....
I can live without playing games but I want to get full performance for every buck I paid. That's all.

If you have no non-Microsoft scanners running in the background, click on 'change advanced power settings' in your current  power plan . Click on processor power mgt folder in the box that pops up. Try changing max power state to 90% both on battery and plugged in. Try it again.
