I have a Predator G3-571 Laptop. It mostly stays plugged in with an external monitor used so I can have dual screens.  Yesterday it started dimming.. and its doing it again today. I have tried powering it off for a few hours to let it cool (tho it didnt feel warm), have updated drivers and even tried a new outlet and charger.

When its unplugged, its dim and no lights on the keyboard. Plugged in its nice and bright and the keys are lit up.. but now it keeps swapping back and forth between dim and no lights to bright and keyboard lights.. Battery status in lower corner shows its 100% and plugged in - it does not change when my screen/keyboard does.
I Have checked settings and its set to never dim or use anything power saver. Troubleshooter came back normal other than the suggestion to automatically dim to save power.

Only thing I do notice, is while I am in Battery settings... the Battery saver option grays out when it dims. It is set to off. I have tried having it on for a bit.. no change.

It did this ONCE  like a year ago and it was just simply a cord that had gotten lose.. first thing I checked.. tried new cord, spare adapter & and new outlet. Still having this issue..  Any suggestions?

TeachingBee this is a weird one i wonder if you have a faulty battery as its a  2017 laptop its a huge probability as seems you have used it on battery have you checked your battery wiear with hwinfo or battery bar pro if more than 20/25% its faulty consider replacing it as the laptop wont work properly without a fully working battery but could also be a faulty keyboard lighting as they wont last forever either either way hope you find out the exact issue as im out of ideas on this one my G3-572 its plugged in since i got it in 2018 24/7 non stop only calibrate the battery once every 6 months or so or even more) cant remember the last time) and my battery wear is from 8.7 after calibration jumping to 10.6% after a few months which is nothing  :)
