Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 - After disconnecting battery, can hold reset button for 15 seconds?

I do this to "remove" any residual power after disconnecting the battery to work with the internals, does this actually work and is it safe? What if I just press the reset button instead of holding it, would nothing happen?
I would open the laptop to press the power button instead but I'm afraid of breaking the hinges while it's upside down. Does the battery reset button work just as well?

Hi @ShangWang,ShangWang said:Thanks, but what I'm asking is will pressing it do nothing and you HAVE to hold it for 15 seconds for it to do anything?
Is it like pressing the power button to get rid of leftover power after disconnecting the battery, and is this a good measure?
Yes, you can do that.1
