Can't finish set up - won't connect to internet - Acer Chromebook 713

I have a brand new Acer 713 Chromebook.  The initial startup setup is not getting past the network step.  It shows as connected to wifi with a strong signal but no internet connection.  Keeps saying “determining device configuration” and then goes straight to “cannot connect to the internet...browse as guest to resolve...”.  If I browse as a Guest then I am able to browse the internet with the wifi connection.   Looking online at technical forums using the guest account on the Chromebook and the internet the recommendation is to try another wi-fi network as they state it’s a problem with the router.  However, I don't have another wi-fi network and the fact that I can browse the internet from the Chromebook makes it seem unlikely.  Please help!
