HI guys!

I recently received an Aspire A315-56 from my employeer in order to "stay connected" in the home-office new reality.
This equipment comes with 256 Gb SSD Storage and it will become "short" soon. I want to ask if this equipment supports the installation of a "secondary" HDD (i'm thinking in 1Tb at least) in order i can leave the OS and Main programs in SDD and move all my workinf folders and files to a more "comfortable", space.

Thanks in advance fro your help, comments and suggestions.

Yes, you should be able to add a 2.5" SSD or 2.5" HDD up to 2TB with no issues. I prefer the WesternDigital Blue series for this kind of machine. The 1TB WD HDD or SSD Blues seem to be about the best deal right now.

If you're in the US or Canada, you can also request a 2.5" HDD/SSD installation kit at this link. If not or if it's not available, all you really need is the flat flexible cable (FFC) to connect the drive to the mainboard. The drive can  be satisfactorily protected and immobilized inside the case with anti-static foam instead of adding more unnecessary HDD screws and brackets in an already over-stuffed laptop interior.

Google search the part no. "50.HEEN2.001" for vendors who ship the cable to your location. About $20usd from vendors like Walmart.

You have 4GB onboard memory and a slot for the upgrade, you can install a DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM module up to 16GB in the slot to make the total memory of 20GB(4GB onboard+16GB), you can also install a M. 2 NVMe SSD up to 1TB. ... 2 SSD card).
