Acer Aspire 5830T Stereo Mix?

Hi all,
I am new to the forum - Please Help! I have recently updated my Aspire 5830T and seem to have lost the Stereo Mix feature, I have tried everything, including the recommended driver from Acers website. I use the feature to edit my library of bird noises stored on my pc but without Stereo Mix, this is proving impossible. I have tried to update from device manager, which gives me CONEXANT 8.54.39.50 driver and also Microsofts High Definition Audi Device but neither of these have worked for me. I am part of a bird watching quiz team, and we use the clips as questions. I am NOT using the feature for any other means of recording. I had the feature but Windows Updates seem to have lost it. By the way, I have tried the left click method in sound settings/record, which hasn't helped. It looks like I need a driver that supports Streo Mix - can you help me please?

If you're trying to run a Windows version newer than Windows7, then download and install iobit's DriverBooster freeware to see if it will pick up any compatible drivers on line.

If DriverBooster doesn't do the job, then you can try  installing the ACER driver in Win7 compatibility mode if you haven't tried to do so already. Compatibility mode occasionally works on older machines that try to run on Win8x & Win10
