Used a volte meter mobo has power but battery does not, still doesn't turn on when the battery is out and plugged just flashes, tried battery reset and bios. appreciate any help!

does it have a switch in the ram tray, maybe it isn't pressed in completely. if it isn't your laptop won't turn on. it's there to make sure the laptop has no power while it's opened.

Yes I have tried that it's the same problem, if it helps the laptop is 4 years old and used a lot, think it's done for imo.

The one serious time my laptop wouldn't turn on and stay turned on(it powered on for 0.5 seconds), was because the LCD cable was preventing it. It was a faulty LCD cable, but my keyboards backlit still powered up. Is it the same with you? You can try disconnecting things one by one until it might turn on. Mine is also touching on 4 years.
