Screen shuts off / laptop stays on, Acer Predator Helios 300 (2018)

After trying a ton of solutions online like turning off "fast startup" and some cmd commands, I still fail to understand what's wrong.

Information 1:
Basically, when I shut my laptop down and close the lid, at times, my laptop would just stay ON(i.e I can hear the fans and the keyboard lights are ON). So I see this every time I come back to my laptop that the lights are ON but the screen is OFF. So I end up force shutting down most of the time.

Information 2:
Recently I got a monitor, so I don't use the laptop screen anymore and keep the lid closed. And yes, I have checked all the "what happens when I close the lid" settings and power settings with screen timeout to never when plugged in.
Now, the issue is, that even if I don't shut it down, it still goes into the state I mentioned (i.e I can hear the fans and the keyboard lights are ON). The monitor gets frozen in whatever state it was till before this "event" happens with my laptop.

Has someone experienced this or can help me in anyway? (I am assuming the issue must be related to the lid)
Thanks

    Hi @gottabeDC,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

    Hi, thanks for the response.

I've taken the steps you've provided and currently there seems to be no issue. However, the problem has happened inconsistently earlier, so not very sure if it is fixed yet.
I'll get back to this post in case it does happen again in next few days.

    Thank you.

Edit: Also I just realized that I have accidentally posted this in Nitro and Aspire Gaming section instead of Predator, so it would be great if a moderator could move it to the correct section.

Hey, it didn't fix. I left the laptop shut down with the power supply turned off, and woke up in the morning to the laptop being completely discharged.

I must add that I use a cooling pad that stays on even after I shut down. So could that be an issue?
