Alright, I have an Acer Nitro5 AN515-54, Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s). Dual M.2 Support + 1 HDD slot

Am I able to use a SSD instead of an HDD? If so, where should I be looking as for size or compatibility? I'm trying to find something upwards of 1TB.

You must be using M.2 NVMe SSD as the boot drive now.

Yes, you can use a 2.5" SATA3 SSD as additional data drive with the capacity that you want in the same slot as the HDD. Just make sure you have the proper connection cables for that. Maybe that came with your laptop when shipped.
