I decided to update my Ram. My unit is Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 if not mistaken. I thinks its 2020 model. Intel core i5 10300H with GTX1650ti, 256 SSD, 1tb HDD, 8gb 3200 mhz (2933 in task manager)
I bought another 8gb ram but 2666 mhz, I thought i will never encounter such problems because I am aware that if it is installed in my laptop, it will only run at 2666mhz but in dual channel but seconds after installation, the screen suddenly froze so I forced shutdown my laptop. After hours of using, it suddenly happen again and so on. I tried removing my old ram which is the 3200mhz, the freezing didnt occur so I thought I should not install different frequencies of ram so I decided to retain the new ram which is 2666mhz of ram. After a week of using it, I didnt encounter such problems but now, the screen suddenly froze. Please help me what to do, the warranty is already voided because due to pandemic, it is hard for us to go to the acer affiliated shops to upgrade ram without voiding the warranty. Thank you so much!

Try to reseat the ram and check..   Try to swap the ram and check.   It might start to work properly..

To check the compatibility of ram which you can use on your computer.. Get CPUz and check it with that in SPD section of all the RAM and specs that you have, its a quick and simple way to check all OEM specs and what you have in your system.

Please visit the website given below.  There is an option to  "start your scan "  and " select your computer " .  Please chose the options and try it.  It will show you the memory and SSD’s details and the best upgrade options for you..

    https://www.crucial.com/

It will tell you what you currently have and what you can add for memory and SSD's.

Note: If you decide to buy you can always compare the prices by visiting other websites or stores and then you can decide.  We are providing the info of scan app just to show you the upgrade options.  You can even download similar scan apps from other memory upgrade websites too.

You can upgrade your Acer Nitro 5 AN515 Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 32GB Memory.
