Does LCD overdrive on Acer Helios 300 cause input lag?

Also, is it safe to leave on at all times? Does it influence your display response time at all? I play fighting games where every 6th of a frame is a very big deal, competitively. Is the 3ms response time on these displays only possible with LC overdrive on? Or is that regardless of whether it's on or off?

If you have a strong understanding of LCD overdrive, I guess I just wanna know if you would use it for fighting games without disadvantage and if you'd leave it on all the time.

Edit* Meant to say each frame consisting a 60th of a second is important in fighting games. When you're commonly reacting to 3 frame animations, having half a frame of delay can mean a big difference in performance in skilled play.
