Aspire A517-51 Battery Issues

Hi,

I have recently purchased a new motherboard for my acer aspire a517-51 laptop, all works fine but I'm now having issues with the battery.

Recently purchased a new battery and then installed it on my laptop, I let my laptop charge to 100% without using it. The unplugged it from the mains to use the battery power on it which was alright until I drained the laptop battery completely as I need to perform a few cycles on it.

When I used up all the battery power - I tried again to recharge the laptop to 100% but the laptop itself would not charge the battery again. It was stuck at 0% plugged in, but was not charging at all.

When the mains is now disconnected from the laptop, it will not run on the battery power anymore. When I plug in the mains it shows an orange light steady for about a minute or two then it starts blinking rapidly and will not stop.

This has happened not only on this new battery but another one I purchased in the past.

I have the original charger for it that works 100%.

Does anyone face the same issue or something similar.

Thanks

What do you mean by 'completely'? Li ion batteries should not be allowed to drain below the critical 5% charge level. Otherwise they can be irreversibly damaged. The proper way to fully cycle a battery is to drain to between 7-10%  level before plugging the charger back in.
