Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade the psu in my p03-620 as I'm only running 500w at the moment. Looking to get 750w if at all possible. What do I need to know and how to I go about this? Also, do you guy have any recommendations? Tia.

    Useltonbryan,

Yes, you can upgrade the PSU to at 750W for the P03-620.

@Easwar But are there any little nuances that I should be aware of before purchasing a new psu?

Why do you want to upgrade? Are you planning on updating the GPU, or does the PSU make a ticking sound(*)? For your current setup the PSU is good enough. I know that NVIDIA recommends a more powerful PSU, but your PC uses new ATX12VO standard PSU and not way more common ATX12V.

Please search the forums as there are post about this thing. But in short:
    • your current motherboard needs ATX12VO PSU
    • there are not many aftermarket options available unless you change motherboard as well
    • Corsair has an adapter which should allow you to use regular PSU with your mobo, but I there is no guarantee it will work.

(*) I and few others had this annoying "feature". The PSU made this ticking sound, which doesn't induce a lot of trust. A PSU is supposed to be dead silent when turned off.

The PO3-620 uses an ATX12VO PSU, and Acer doesn't have one in that size. As GotBanned suggests upgrades to your 500W are few and far between. Let's look at why you need an upgrade before digging into how you might accomplish it...
