Hi,

I want to ask a few question.
Which SSD should I get? NVMe or SATA
Is it possible to clone a partition instead of the full disk?
Can I use the M.2 SSD as a boot drive?

You can use either an m.2 SATA3 or m.2 NVME card up to 2TB capacity. The NVME card should be about twice as fast as the SATA3 but probably not too noticeably faster except when using disk intensive apps.

Sure you can clone a single parttion or the whole disk with any of the freeware cloning or migratiing tools like MacriumReflect or AOMEI backerupper

Yes you can boot from the m.2 card most easily by temporarily disconnecting the old 2.5" boot drive and installing Windows on the m.2 using Microsoft's free usb creation Win10 installation .tool. Once installed, you can re-connect the old boot drive and it should show up as an extra D : \ drive.
