ConceptD 7 Pro | RTX 5000 | Flickering Display

Hi everyone, I'm the opener of this previous thread: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/648878/conceptd-7-pro-black-screen#latest in which I described some issues I had with the laptop and how things got resolved pretty quickly by the customer service.

Despite the laptop has been recently checked and repaired I'm still experiencing some issues when it comes to display brightness. I don't know why, but when the notebook is not plugged in the brightness struggles to remain stable. It seems like some auto-brightness kicks in even though I've disabled it through Windows control panel.

The issue is more visible when:

- Waking up the pc from screen saver
- Changing Chrome tab (i.e: going from a light page to a dark one)
- Changing content (i.e: going from Chrome to another folder)

Is there anything specific I can do? When the problem occurs most of the colors look a bit washed out.

We need to determine whether it is a hardware or software issue..   Turn off the computer.   Tap f2 while turning on the computer.   It will go to bios.  For Desktop you need to press the del key.    Please stay on the bios screen for 30 mins.    If the display is looking good on bios then it is a software issue.   If the display is not looking good on the bios screen then it is a hardware issue.

If it is a software issue try the following the steps..

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand display adapter
right click on display driver - uninstall
    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

If it is still not working
Uninstall the display adapter from device manager
    Don’t restart the computer.
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers
    Install the display driver

Try to disable adaptive brightness and check

On the lower right corner of the screen, right next to date and time please click on the notification icon.    It will show you an option to increase and decrease the brightness.     You can also hold fn key on keyboard and press f5 or f6 or use the arrow keys to increase and decrease the brightness.   Kindly check it.

    Hey!
I haven't had time to test everything you suggested but I'm scared it's a software related issue as the problum occurs when switching from a dark page on Chrome to a lighter one (i.e. going from dark mode on YouTube to a blank Google Doc).

Hey, I'm sorry for not replying super quickly but I've been pretty busy lately.

I haven't tried all of the steps you recomended but I'm 100% it's a software related issue as I've been able to recreate the scenario in which the problem occurs.

Is there anything specific I could do?

  • Must be an intel graphics command center setting. Then go to ENERGY and turn off all options.
