Hopefully you can see attached image.  This morning multicolored vertical lines on right side and grey horizontal lines on bottom side of screen appeared.  I didn't drop computer, etc.  I tried rebooting and pressing in on side of screen per a youtube video.

chatted with acer and they said :-1:

"AgentBios reset.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.
Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 to enter the BIOS.
Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit."

I couldn't even get to the BIOS arghhhhh

I don't want mail it in as I'm concerned it will be lost forever which may be a good thing actually as long as I can get money back.  Anyway. has anyone had any luck dealing with this issue.  Thanks in advance.

Go to BIOS and check whether do u see those lines. Turn off the laptop and turn it back on, as soon as you turn on the unit start pressing the F2 key repeatedly so that it will go to BIOS and check do you still see those lines.

Those actually look like a *bunch* of windows partially opening. The OS stacks them to give a little overlap. Can you bring up Task Manager from there?

Does the BIOS menu itself show the same lines? If not, then shut the machine down normally. Then turn the machine back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. A reset menu should appear to allow your to refresh the system while trying to save your personal files or a complete erase-everything factory reset. The latter factory reset is preferred so back up any personal files before doing this.
