Hi all,

I have an Acer E5-576G-56FW. I bought the laptop 3 years ago. It worked fine like three months then It doesn't consistently shut down or go to sleep. (Not consistently means: It sometimes shuts down or go to sleep but for the most part, it does not )

Here is the case:

When I shut down the laptop or put the laptop into sleep mode,

  • The screen goes black.
  • The Fan runs forever. (sometimes laptop makes more noise than it normally does)
  • Blue light stays on forever
When I turn sleep-mode on, I couldn't turn it back on again. and also If the laptop screen turns off due to inactivity or the laptop lid is closed, the same scenario will happen.
The only thing left to do is manually turn it off by holding the power button.

What I already tried:

  • Turning off the fast bootup
  • Updating BIOS : (Laptop had V1.47, 06/09/2018, Updated to V1.49, 11/12/2018)
As I guessed manually turning the laptop off every time is not good for the laptop. I really need this laptop for my studies. I am still a student.
It would be really great If anyone could help.

    Hi @MalishaGK,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug the charger.
    3. At the bottom there will be a tiny pin hole with battery sign close to it take a pin or paper clip and insert into it hold that button for 20-30 seconds. Then turn ON the unit and check.
