For reference I have a Nitro 5 AN515-53 model N17C1.

Over the last several years when I put my computer in sleep mode it wouldn't turn back on until I did a manual shutdown or when I properly shut it down the lights on the keyboard would turn on and the fans would rev up until the battery was drained. I tried a factory reset several times but it never fixed the problem.

A couple of days ago when I would turn it on it would crash right after it got to the log in screen. In the attempt to fix this new problem I removed the battery and it started up normal and all the problems I've been having went away.

I believe replacing the battery will fix the problem. However, I'm curious if anyone knows why the battery would affect the computer in this way?

    Hi @RumrunnerMike
check if there is a pin 📌hole at the bottom of the unit. Put a small pin inside and press and hold the pin for 30sec.  If there is no pin hole then press the power button for 12sec. Remember to remove your charger when you do that.
