Xc-603 not recognising additional RAM

Hi,

I recently installed two 4gb RAM modules in my xc-603. I used the Crucial finder to select the Crucial 8GB Kit (4GB x 2) DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3L-12800) SODIMM 204-Pin Memory - CT2KIT51264BF160B

After installing the two modules I restarted my computer. It starts and operates fine but still shows 4GB RAM.

How do I make it recognise that it has 8GB RAM now available.

Thanks

Mark

It just does it, check to make sure it's seated right :) may need a plug in and out

Leostat, good point…I’ll give it a try. It took a couple of refits to get the primary module to work….so maybe it’s the same issue.

Spec says the Aspire XC-603 supports 1333 memory, not 1600. That also might be the issue. Here's the snip from the service guide.
