Hello everyone.
I am use Acer Swift 3 SF314-56G-53XX
I want to ask about Memory upgrade and speed.

I know that this laptop is use DDR4 Memory. But i don't know how to choose right memory because the speed of memory.
I read on task manager, and it said i use 2400 MHz.

But some videos and some website said that laptop i use now using memory speed of 2666 MHz.

So, here's my questions.

1. Beside form task manager, how do i know what speed of memory that i use now? I mean what apps that can i use?

2. If i'll buy memory that has speed is below memory on board or vice versa, is the speed is follow by system or Motherboard?

3. Speaking of upgrade, i can do upgrade by myself. But after see my laptop cover at bottom, there's still warranty sticker cover one of the screw.

If i remove it, is my warranty is gone?

I hope you can answer my questions.

I appreciate of your answer.

Thank you so much.

i suggest you to access the run command MSINFO32 and here you can get every detail about your RAM and based on that you can purchase a new one and upgrade your unit.

EsraChristian the suggested memory and specs for your Acer Swift 3 SF314-56G-53XX is a max total (with the 4GB onboard memory) of 12GB total which means that you can add a 1x 8GB DDR4-2666 MHz SDRAM max speed module of the type of memory modules with these listed combinations below:

Carefully pry the sides of the memory module cover to disengage the latches (1) and lift it up from the mainboard (2).

Note: if there's is a warranty sticker cover over one of the screws then DO NOT OPEN THE LAPTOP take it to Acer because if you don't you will lose the warranty. Also and if you want to make sure, phone Acer in your area and ask them (especially with Covid-19 situation) if you can upgrade the memory yourself?

Note that the DDR4-2666 SDRAM is not XMP memory, you need real 2666MHz, not the 2133MHz that XMP "3200MHz" actually is.

I'm going to guess the extra 4GB stick that's in it right now (4GB soldered to the MB, 4GB in a socket) is 2400MHz memory, which is why everything is running at 2400. It will all run at the speed of the slowest memory. If you replaced that 2400 with a 2666, and potentially bumped that stick up to 8GB at the same time, it'd all run at the faster speed.
