Power interrupt button on PH317-53 (2019)?

Hello!

Every time I move my laptop the AC power disconnects and transfers to the battery. As soon as I touch the laptop again, the battery reconnects and everything will work normally until I touch/move it again. After doing some research, I'm thinking it's most likely the "power interrupt" button not being pressed properly. It seems as though this is an issue with these laptops. The problem is that the only references to this button are for models earlier than mine and I'm unable to locate the button on my model - PH317-53 (2019).  I do not have the "window" on the back of my laptop where the button is located, as the design changed from 2019 models onward.

I took off the back in hopes of being able to find it on my own, but unfortunately, I'm not.

Can someone please circle the whereabouts of this button? I'm not technologically savvy and any help from the community is greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much.

@TinyTunaas far as im aware only the 2017/18 have the battery reset button all the earlier models dont (i will look into it to try to find more about it) but check for any switch near the ram slots or around the chassis you will find it if its present if youre unable to find anything its because you dont have it and might be some other sensor malfunctioning either way good luck :)

Update: just went through all the SG and found nothing so as i suspected the battery powerdrain button and ram cover switches were removed on all models after the 2018's as the chassis changed completely to accommodate the new mobo and fans setup i would check if its not your adapter connector thats faulty or even the connector in the mobo also if youre still under warranty and havent found the issue yet contact acer support and send it back to get it diagnosed :)

Thank you so much for getting back to me! I just checked and unfortunately my warranty expired in February. I checked over the adapter and all of its components and nothing seems to be amiss. I reconnected the connector that attaches to the motherboard. If the issue persists I'll purchase a new AC adaptor and go from there!

Thank you for your response! I've disconnected and reconnected both. I've moved the laptop around and it hasn't disconnected yet. Hopefully this was an easy fix, but only time will tell.

Just as an addition, these are some resets that could be useful for your purpose Predator PH317-53

Also, your OEM battery was either one of these, so see if replacing the battery will fix your problem also?
    • 3720mAh Acer part #: KT.00407.007
    • 3815 mAh Acer part #: KT.00407.009

Thank you for your suggestion! I'll keep this in mind if/when the issue presents itself again, which it hasn't for the time being. I figured I'd purchase a new adaptor and/or battery next if necessary. Fingers crossed.
