I've had my eyes on an Acer Predator Orion 3000-630 pc for the past days, with a 3070 and i7, but I've read around that the 3070 is recommended to have a 650w power supply in the pc, but the one I'm thinking about ordering from a reseller only has 500w power supply, and that is why too little for the card for full performance. So I'm wondering if it's hard to change the power supply in a predator pc since the case is so small?

The newer machines are built using Intel new standard with ATX12VO power supplies. They are a single rail supply only providing +12V, the rest of the voltages the system needs are derived from that on the motherboard. Unfortunately, even though they've been building systems with those supplies for two years or so, the third party vendors haven't been putting very many offerings out, especially the larger sizes. Currently the largest one I'm aware that Acer puts in is a 500W and they are using that with the i7/3070 combo. NVIDIA might be a little conservative in their requirement when they suggest 650W.

Do you think the PC will run fine, and I'll get good performance with the OEM 500W 80 Plus Gold PSU?
and yeah its the i7/3070 one I'm talking about

I trust that Acer's electrical engineers are adept enough to count what kind of PSU their pre-builds need. Sooner or later other PSU options will be available, if other manufacturers pick up this new standard.

The only PSU related problem I am aware of is that some PSU's emit buzzing sound when the PC is turned off. There are few posts about this if you search for them.

But before buying anything I'd suggest you to search "high CPU temp" and noise complaints on this forum. Those can be rather easily fixed, but...
