I am trying to install a M.2 SSD SATA on Acer Aspire TC-710 and see some people have done that successfully. I wonder if a standoff is needed for the upgrade?
Thanks in advance.

    It has no moving parts.
Just let it hang or use cable ties or tape to another cable in case that you're moving it around. This is my opinion. The screw is used for the NVMe SSD not the Sata. https://www.kingston.com/unitedstates/us/solutions/pc-performance/nvme-vs-sata

There should already be a standoff on the motherboard at the correct place for a 2280 card. It may or may not have the screw in it, if not it's a normal M2x3mm M.2 screw.
