Power management issue with new Acer Aspire A315-58

I recently bought the Acer Aspire A315-58.

It appears to have a serious power management defect - when it goes into 'sleep' or 'hibernate' mode, the fan keeps running continually. It then won't wake from sleep / hibernate - the screen just stays blank. Using the touchpad / keyboard / power key won't wake it. You have to do a 'hard' shutdown by holding down the power key. This happens every single time.

Here's a video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pAtad9bnjLNuLrnz7

You can hear that the fan comes on for approx a second, cuts out for about a second, and repeats, constantly. It never stops.

Please advise if there's an obvious fix - but I think it may need to be returned.

    Hi ajs001,

To adjust power and sleep settings in Windows 10, go to Start , and select Settings > System > Power & sleep. Under Screen, select how long you want your device to wait before turning the screen off when you're not using your device.
