Aspire 7 (A715-42G): How to keep Keyboard backlit light off after every startup?

One of the most annoying aspect about the Aspire series in general is the Firmware / UEFI does not remember the setting for keyboard backlit lights. Therefore, it inevitably turns on every time I start up my device. My laptop is already on the latest firmware update (1.04).

Did anyone managed to change its behavior to OFF at default?

Please try fn + f9  four times to dim it or fn + f10 four times to increase the brightness of light..
Try to disable "Keyboard Backlight Timeout" in your BIOS settings

I know the backlit timeout feature works, as I already tinkered with BIOS settings. However it only disables it after 30 seconds, so not exactly a perfect solution. I wish a fix is implemented from the Manufacturer level.

    Hi joeljustin,

I think we can't turn it off in less than 5 seconds.
