I have an Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L 8Gb RAM which came with 128GB M2, and an SSD drive slot. Is it possible to buy an adapter to add a 2nd M? Will I have the speed advantage of an M2 over SSD?

Sorry. The 2.5" HDD/SSD socket is SATA3 only bus speeds. Accordingly, an m.2 SSD nvme card adapted to a 2.5" socket, has no advantage over a 2.5" SATA3 SSD.
