I have a Swift SF315-52G that came with a 8 GB ram and 1TB HDD. It's clear to me that I can upgrade my ram. But can I upgrade my memory to? Is there a SSD slot in my laptop?

Yes, you have an M.2 slot that supports SSDs up to NVMe x4, so much faster than your HDD. It's possible that you have an Intel Optane card in that slot right now, to accelerate the HDD and if that's the case the Optane would be removed to allow the SSD to install. You should clone your HDD to the SSD, then boot from the SSD using the F12 boot menu, then wipe the HDD and convert it to a large data drive.

Clone in the sense I should transfer everything in my HDD to my SSD? Or just the system files?

Everything, there are likely three small partitions that will need to be copied as part of the cloning process. The only partition that is allowed to change in size is the system partition (the C: drive). If you don't get those over the SSD will not be fully bootable and you'll have to keep the HDD in place in order to boot.
