Hi. I hade a almost 2y old Predator helios. (N17c3). And today my pc wouldent turk on so i tried alot of things before noticing a ceramic capacitor was broken. At this point i know there is no chance of fixing this myself. So can one get ahold of a new motherboard somewhere?

Hey “Wipeout” where is the capacitor? As all I can see is that a connector is damaged not a ceramic capacitor (see comparison captions below) where is “noticing a ceramic capacitor was broken”?

Anyway, its always cheaper to fix a motherboard than to buy a new one! I would enquire first with an experienced and top technician that does micro soldering and replaces parts, go to and make an enquiry here and ask Alex from “NorthridgeFix” (post model number, photos of that connector and details of your problem) and ask him if he can fix and/or can get and replace components for your Predator Helios N17c3 motherboard first (I've use Alex tofis a mobo and he's the best there is and if he can't fix it then its unfixable and you have to buy a new mobo) see first if its cheaper than buying a new motherboard as a new Predator Helios N17c3 motherboard is about USD $550.00 that is what I would do as and if you get a new motherboard you could be wasting allot of money, its up to you?  Good luckand hope this helps you out.

"Wipeout" the first photos that you had on your post didn’t specifically show that comonents, anyway, what you are showing is a very simple job for an experienced micro soldering technician that has all the appropriate tools and replacement components. You will have a 99% chance of this problem being fixed for very minimal cost and not have to spend close to USD $600.00 including shipping for a new motherboard and as this could cost maybe just USD $50.00 plus shipping, as Alex can most probably analyse and fix and replace that burned out component very easily.

Also and don’t forget that the root of the problem could be other components that are causing that capacitor to short and burn out? Ask and get Alex from “NorthridgeFix” to analyse that problem(s) in your motherboard and he will 100% determine which component(s) are linked and causing this problem? Send it to him or and if you have a guy in your area with that sort of expertise and tools take your motherboard to him. Good luck.
