Hi, i have an Acer Predator Helios 300  PH315-52-78YQ

Specs :
Intel core i7-9750H
16 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 2060
SSD 256 + 1000 HDD
Windows 10

As soon as i started gaming i had overheating problems(90°/92° CPU and 85°/89° GPU) and i begun to search for a solution. I found a lot of people saying is useful to undervolt the CPU (Mine is already undervolted -0,125 V), then some suggested to change values in edit power plan, did that too and temps were lower(75°/80° both CPU and GPU) because i also lowered graphic settings.

Do you think is that enough?

I have doubts because i'm playing Skyrim and F1 2018 that should not be very stressful for my pc and i think i should be able to play with max graphic settings without overheating problems.

In addition to this, yesterday while i was playing F1 2018, the game freezed and apparead Windows blue screen with : CRITICAL PROCESS DIED

Do you think this is linked to thermal problems? Please help me i don't know what to think, thank you

    Hi Axel22z1,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

Hi Easwar, thanks for the answer. I followed your steps, now i'm getting 83° max on F1 2018 and 75° max on Skyrim both with ultra settings. The critical process died did not appaer. Do you think 83° is still pretty high or is it ok?

I have another question. Can i undervolt my pc more then -0,125 v without damage?

    Hi Axel22z1,

When you hitting 83° max is the system turning OFF or it works fine.

While undervolting doesn't damage your CPU, overdoing it can make your system unstable (though it's easy to reverse). Overvolting, on the other hand, can damage your CPU if abused, but used carefully, can allow you to overclock your CPU to higher speeds.

Axel22z1 optimize your windows properly and undervolt (check my signature) if still needed and if youre able to without voiding your warranty repaste it with kryonaut or similar and make sure the back its lifted 2/3" at all times for a proper airflow also clean the fans properly otherwise send it back to get it repasted with stock paste but might come working exactly the same as the stock paste its the cheapest u can get all manufacturers use the same cheap good luck :)
