Hello. I am using Acer swift 3. I am facing this problem from yesterday or so. When I am connecting a headphone to the headphone jack, it shows a pop up saying which device I plugged in. There I have selected the "Headphone" option but whenever I am playing an audio/video, it makes sound on the speaker. Then I have to go to the realtek audio driver console and then, I have to go to the advanced settings. But there the box already shows the option "Headphone". Yet nothing shows about this. Again I have to select headphone and then it works. Anybody else facing this issue? If so or not how can I solve it? Because it's a bit boring to select manually again and again

    Hi Hasibul,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

Right click on the sound icon at bottom right, then choose Sound Settings. What is selected as the default output device? It might be using a higher level device than the headphones, and that isn't making the switch for you.
Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

The default is "Speaker (Realtek Audio)". When I plugged in my headphone, it should show me a dropdown menu. But it isn't. To fix this, what I had to do is, going to realtek audio console >> Device Advanced Settings >> Analog (Threr is a drop down menu including headphone, headset, stereo ut etc. There I can see Headphone is selected but nothing is added on the left hand side on "Playback Devices". I had to select Headset. Then in the left side Headphone option is added on Playback Devices.
Did you understand my point or shall I attach some screenshots?

    Hello Easwar,

Really appreciate your problem. But is it really necessary to get into BIOS? Because I feel this more of a software problem than hardware. Just one more thing, did you face something similar before? And did you clearly understand my problem?  Or do I need to attach some screenshots?

So you have the new type of Realtek audio drivers with Realtek Audio Console?

If yes, then go to Microsoft Update Catalog, search for realtek 2021 media, download 6.0.9175.1 audio driver. Search for realtek 2021 audio effects, download 11.0.6000.911 audio effects.

Unzip both cab files and copy/paste all items into brand new empty folders.

Then go to device manager, update the 9175 audio driver under "sound, video and game controllers" and update ALL 3 Realtek software components under "software components" by pointing them to your newly created folders. Then run Microsoft Store to download new Realtek Audio Console.

If there is an option inside Realtek Audio Console to do multiple streaming --- i.e. laptop speakers playing 1 audio and headphone playing a 2nd audio --- then you could also encounter your problem because you are playing only 1 audio. Only playing a 2nd audio would the headphone play any sound if multiple streaming is enable.

I don't know why it's not downloading. After I press download a new pop up window comes. And then nothing happens. Can you please help?

Okay, so which one should I update?
