I will be sending my Acer Predator Helios 300 back to Amazon after the laptop would not start due to an issue with the hard drive. Of course, my personal information is on the hard drive and Amazon requires that I get rid of this information, but I can't get into my actual laptop or even repair mode, so I'm somewhat stuck in a corner with my limited knowledge.

How do I go about getting rid of this information? Will Amazon still give me my money back if I open the casing or will I have to use other means? The return people are due to pick up the laptop on Monday (BST time zone) at some point during the day, so I probably have just under 48 hours to get this done.

There is no way, short of opening the machine and putting the m.2 drive in a reader and formating it. A local tech store or repair store may have a device that holds M.2 drives and has a scsi interface with usb pigtail for reading them. They are also available online but you are limited in time. I also don't know if you want to pop the back open oof your laptop because of warranty issues.
