Why you'll need a new "normal" PSU and most likely a motherboard? Because your desktop uses a new type of PSU when it comes to how the power is delivered to the motherboard. It provides only 12 volts to the motherboard where it is transformed to lower voltages. You can read a bit more about this in Wikipedia HERE. Look for ATX12VO (12 Volt-Only).

There are some good explanations and video reviews about this new standard by Linus Tech Tips and Gamers Nexus,

The last time I looked few months ago there were no 750 or 850W ATX12VO power supplies to be had. Nor there were any adapters that might work. Maybe things have changed, or at least soon will, if this new standard becomes more common.

I remember seeing similar question or two on this forum. To do this you'd need to change the case to a bigger one and the PSU as well. You see, your current PSU isn't powerful enough to run 3090 - it needs lots of clean power. Furthemore, changing the PSU means that you'll need to change the motherboard too.

What you want to do is doable, but comes with a hefty price tag. Thankfully you'd be able to use your CPU, RAM and storage drives, so at least that's something.

my PSU is 500 watts I know I need to change it to 850 watts but why I need to change the motherboard to? I don't think the Acer predator motherboard will be in another case because it has a different shape.
