How can I secure an Aspire Z1-611 start board

Hi,

Opened Aspire Z1-611 as instructed on this forum ( prise off back, undo a few screws and expose the main board). Purpose to upgrade to 8mb RAM and install a solid state drive. What was not mentioned in the instructions was that I would find the little start-button contact board swinging in the wind ( see Pic 1).
For the life of me I cannot see how that little board (25mm x 10mm) is secured relative to the start-button plastic contact device positioned on the back case (pic 2).
Can anyone tell me if the button press contacts the little (copper?) disk on the board hence gating power to the motherboard? If so how might the board be securely fixed.

Cheers,

No superglue! It attacks plastic. Scotch or electrical tape only to make it snug or make it stick!

Let gravity tell you about where the switch board guide hole came off of its guide pin in the other half of the case when you pulled the two halves apart. I can't really see the pin in the other half from your photo.

    Thanks indeed for your help.

"Let gravity tell you about where the switch board guide hole came off of its guide pin in the other half of the case when you pulled the two halves apart. I can't really see the pin in the other half from your photo".

Guide pin for board not evident anywhere. Close exam shows no broken area!!  (see new pics).

If you could confirm that startup is done by the button mechanism plastic pin touching/compressing the small circular disk on the start board then I can contrive to fix the board on appropriately.

    Cheers

Sorry, info available doesn't show that level of detail of this board nor its SW1 or SW2 positioning relative to the case button.  Its width seems narrow enough in your photo that it might in fact fit in case slots edgewise instead of lying flat between them.

I did think that it might fit edgewise but it is not at all a "snug" fit and when seated edgewise then "SW1/SW" (copper circle) does nor align well with the start button plastic shift mechanism.
Oh well, I will try to see what I can do with some superglue after I have determined the start action.

    Thanks for your help.
