edited June 2021 in Predator Laptops
Firstly the Wifi started having problems. It disconnects after a couple minutes of use and the troubleshooter would just crash and not respond.
Restarting was the only thing that would fix it but it became too frequent so I opted for an ethernet cable which worked fine.

I noticed it was over heating and started to crash when editing video so I took it apart, cleaned it up, put in new cooling paste, put it up to 32GB of RAM did a factory reset and it worked really well for months, however the Wifi issue couldn't correct itself so I was going to just buy a new Wifi chip.

But today, I used the laptop this morning, then went out. I came back and opened it up as always and the screen is dead. It is backlit but no predator logo or anything.
I plugged it into an external monitor and it worked. So I set about trying to work it out via this forum.

I have the BIOS file ready. Then I saw someone suggest disabling fast-boot by turning it off and holding shift.
I held shift and held the power button.

Laptop died. 2 red diodes fully alite and the power button is illuminated. I can get no response from it at all.

Please help  =[

Reset didn't help. Ordered a new 4k screen.
Decided to have a look inside and see how easy it was to replace the display cable. (Turns out insanely easy)

Discovered that the display cable had 1mm of play in it. Took it off and put it back in. Viola, screen back to life.

Ok managed to get life back to it by holding the F7 and F8 key along with Ctrl.
    Don't know why that worked.

Going to Reset the laptop now and see if that restores the screen.
